Acticand vaginal tablets is indicated in the treatment and prevention of candida vulvovaginitis and related symptoms, in case of both acute episode (VVC) and relapsing forms (VVCR).
The formulation with citric acid and sodium bicarbonate create a temporary physical barrier to oxygen inside the lumen of the vagina following the development of carbon dioxide (CO2), forming an anaerobic environment able to counteract the establishment, persistence or spread of a vaginal candida infection.
The presence of the two microorganisms Lactobacillus fermentum LF 10 and Lactobacillus acidophilus LA 02 reinforces the physical barrier action.
The slight effervescence carries the lactobacilli throughout the vaginal lumen, favoring their dispersion.
