Myo-inositol mediates the body's response to stimuli from various hormones, such as insulin and FSH, the follicle stimulating hormone. The action of both of these hormones is altered in women with PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) and the continuous integration of myo-inositol helps normalize the metabolic and hormonal profile.
Alpha-lactalbumin improves intestinal absorption of myo-inositol.
Folic acid contributes to the normal growth of maternal tissues during pregnancy, and its deficiency can cause an increase in intrafollicular homocysteine with a consequent reduction in oocyte quality.
