Coryfin is a symptomatic drug indicated for the treatment of cough and hoarseness. It contains Vitamin C, menthol and lemon essence. It helps relieve local irritation and reduces phlegm, even in smokers.
Active ingredient
Sodium ascorbate 16.8 mg equal to 15 mg of ascorbic acid (vitamin C).
Excipients
Menthol, citric acid, lemon essence, sucrose, glucose.
Dosage and Posology
Take 1 tablet every 1-2 hours, up to a maximum of 8 tablets per day. In children over 30 months, the doses should be halved. Do not exceed the recommended doses and do not continue treatment for more than 3 days.
Overdose
There are no known effects of overdose. In case of accidental oral intake or incorrect administration in neonates and children, there may be a risk of neurological disorders. If necessary, administer appropriate symptomatic treatment in specialized care centers.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active substance, to a heparinoid or to any of the excipients
Children up to 30 months of age.
Children with a history of epilepsy or febrile convulsions.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
There are no or limited amount of data on the use of menthol in pregnant women. Coryfin is not recommended during pregnancy and in women of childbearing age who do not use contraceptive measures.
Special warnings
This product contains terpene derivatives which, in excessive doses, can cause neurological disorders such as convulsions in newborns and children. Treatment should not be prolonged for more than 3 days due to the risks associated with the accumulation of terpene derivatives, such as camphor, cineole, niaouli, wild thyme, terpineol, terpin, citral, menthol and essential oils of pine needles, eucalyptus and turpentine (due to their lipophilic properties, the rate of metabolism and disposal is unknown) in the tissues and brain, in particular neuropsychological disorders.
Candies contain glucose: patients with rare problems of glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medicine. The sweets contain sucrose: patients with rare problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not take this medicine.
