Laevolac syrup is a medicine that contains lactulose and is indicated for the short-term treatment of occasional constipation in adults, children and infants. Stimulates intestinal motility, promoting easier evacuation.
Composition
100 ml of syrup contains: 66.7 g lactulose. 1 sachet of 10 g contains: lactulose 10 g.
Excipients
Syrup: sorbic acid (E 200) 0.08 g; purified water to taste to 100 ml. Sachets: lemon flavoring 0.05 g.
Dosage
Adults: mild constipation 1 tablespoon/day 2 teaspoons/day severe constipation 1-2 tablespoons/day 2-3 teaspoons/day stubborn constipation 2-3 tablespoons/day 2-4 teaspoons/day Sachets 1-2 sachets/day.
Children: Syrup initial dose maintenance dose 1-6 years 1-2 teaspoons/day 1 teaspoon/day 6-14 years 1 tablespoon/day 2 teaspoons/day Sachets ½-1 sachet /day. Infants initial dose maintenance dose Syrup 1 teaspoon/day 1 teaspoon/day 1 tablespoon = 15 ml = 10 g of lactulose 1 teaspoon = 5 ml = 3.3 g of lactulose Laxatives must be used as infrequently as possible and for no more than seven days. Use for longer periods of time requires a doctor's prescription after adequate evaluation of the individual case.
