Imodium, based on Loperamide hydrochloride, is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of occasional diarrhea. It acts on the intestine by reducing bowel movements and stimulating evacuation.
Composition
Active ingredient: Loperamide hydrochloride 2mg
Excipients: lactose, corn starch, talc, magnesium stearate, erythrosine (E 127); indigo carmine (E 132); yellow iron oxide (E 172); black iron oxide (E 172); titanium dioxide and gelatin to taste to a capsule
Dosage and method of use
Adults and children between 6 and 17 years of age: the starting dose is 2 capsules (4mg) for adults and 1 capsule (2mg) for children to be taken by mouth to be taken with a glass of water at room temperature drunk in small sips.
